Killoo Church and Graveyard is a place of great historical and spiritual significance.

We warmly welcome visitors who wish to explore the site and learn more about its heritage. To ensure that your visit is safe and respectful, please take note of the following guidance. Members of the development group may be available on a voluntary basis to take guided tours of the site subject to adequate notice via email killoochurch@gmail.com

How to Get Here

Killoo Church (GPS Position 524920B085607W) is located in the heart of the Clare countryside half a Kilometre from J12 on the M18. The site can be accessed via the main entrance road, which brings you directly to the graveyard boundary walls.

By Car: Parking is very limited. A small number of spaces are available at the first entrance point, with single-file parking possible along the access road.

By Bicycle: Cyclists are welcome and may ride as far as the graveyard boundary walls before securing their bikes outside the grounds.

Visitor Etiquette

As Killoo remains an active burial ground, we ask all visitors to show respect for its sanctity and the families connected with the site.

Please observe the following guidelines during your visit:

  • Be mindful of the quiet and sacred nature of the site.
  • Always close gates securely behind you.
  • Dogs are not permitted within the grounds.
  • Avoid walking on or disturbing grave slabs.
